Tannara ‘Strands’ Album Launch Tour at Eastgate Arts Theatre Peebles @ Eastgate Theatre
Mar 8 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

2019 will be the biggest year yet for Tannara, with the release of their second album STRANDS at the Celtic Connections Festival 2019. The album represents a significant development for the band who have spent the past two years writing and recording this superb work.
Bold, creative, and original; Tannara (Owen Sinclair, Robbie Greig, Becca Skeoch and Joseph Peach) have established themselves as one of the UK’s most interesting and unique contemporary folk groups.
Formed in 2014, the band came about as a natural extension of the four members’ love of making music together. Fuelled by this, they’ve covered considerable musical ground over the past five years. With a background in Scotland’s native traditions, their ceaseless musical development is a melting pot of ideas, genres and sounds: From indie rock to electronica, as well as Scotland’s vibrant and diverse folk scene.
Unafraid to experiment, their music is an electrifying meeting place for a world of sounds: Punchy and clean, riotous and gritty, tender and honest. On fiddle, harp, guitar, accordion and vocals, Tannara make an intensely considered musical world which is uniquely theirs. www.tannaramusic.com Photo credit to Somhairle MacDonald.

Peebles | Serenata Concert @ Eastgate Theatre
Mar 17 @ 2:30 pm

SERENATA

The dates are now out for the new season of Serenata. The monthly concerts are on Sunday afternoons, at 2.30 in the Eastgate Studio. Each concert offers an opportunity for local musicians to perform solo or ensemble in a relaxed, friendly setting. One of the delights of Serenata is that the music is so varied and full of unexpected discoveries. Singers, pianists and instrumentalists have performed classical, folk, jazz, popular and world music – anything fits in. Performers from primary to pensioners of various standards show what fun it is to get together and play music.

Working for an exam? Serenata is an ideal setting to perform your pieces to a sympathetic audience before playing for the examiners.

Enjoy playing chamber music? Why not get together with friends to practice duets or quartets? Aiming for a Serenata concert will encourage that little bit extra polish!

Singing or playing on your own? We can put you in touch with a pianist to accompany your solos. It’s fun and productive!

There are two concerts this year:
Sunday November 11th.  Any musical items welcome but there will be some songs of remembrance to mark the day.

Sunday December 9thwith a traditional seasonal flavour.

2019 Serenata concerts are on:

Sundays January 20th  February 17th  March 17th.

If you are interested in playing or singing contact Claire Garnett on 01721 740256 rc.garnett@btopenworld.com

or Caroline Adam at The Eastgate 01721 725785

Help fill the concerts with the music you love!
