The Community Garden
Our community garden is set in the heart of the community, the garden behind Victoria Park Centre in Peebles.
We run weekly volunteer sessions (Tuesday and Friday 10am – 12pm), with people of all ages, and work with service users from Victoria park centre.
We have activities for everyone, no green fingers needed and are always on the lookout for new volunteers to come and work with us, so please do get in touch if you fancy joining us. We encourage people to take home some garden produce when available. Activities range from mowing, strimming, planting out seedlings, sowing seeds, and watering, there really is something for everyone. Please email Nichole at nichole@peeblescan.org for more information.
We have lots of wonderful fruit and veggies growing, and enjoy trying to grow some unusual things in this Scottish climate. We have aubergines, cucumbers, tomatoes, pak choi and lots of salad in our polly tunnel, along with courgettes, beans, beetroot, potatoes, spinach, chard, kale, onions, sprouts, garlic, squashes, pumpkins, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, radish, carrots, and leeks, in our outdoor beds. Our produce is used in our Cook Kids cooking sessions and are currently supplying the Tontine Hotel, The Food Foundation and Windlestraw Lodge with organic fresh veggies.
Thank you to CCF for supporting this project.
