WALKS FOR MARCH 2019

 

Sunday 3:

Tweeddale Ramblers. Norham Bridge and Milne GradenCircular. A moderate walk from Norham Bridge Car Park, walking south beside the River Tweed to Milne Graden and returning by the same route. Ladykirk Church and Norham Castle are nearby. 9.00 am meeting in Kingsmeadows car park (note earlier meeting time). 6.2miles/10 km, ascent 164 feet/50m.

 

 

Sunday 10:

Tweeddale Ramblers. Peebles to Innerleithen South route linear.A strenuous walk from Kingsmeadows car park, via Gallow Hill to the Drove Road, Kirkhope Law, Yellow Mire Hill, Little Craigie side, Beards Hill, Young Bush Wood, Slacks Wood, Traquair Bear Gates and grounds, then on to the B709 and Innerleithen. Return to Peebles by bus.  10.00 am meeting in Kingsmeadows car park.  9.3miles/15 km, ascent 1312 feet/400m.

 

Sunday 17:

Tweeddale Ramblers. Manor Bridge Circular. A leisurely morning walk through South Park, ascending to the Sware, descending to Manor Bridge, and returning by the Tweed. 10.00 am meeting at Kingsmeadows car park. 4.7 miles/7.5 km, ascent 295 feet/90m.

 

Sunday 24:

Tweeddale Ramblers. The Three Brethren Linear. A strenuous walk starting at Traquair Village Hall and taking the Southern Upland Way to the Three Brethren. Return the same way or by Broadmeadow and Minchmoor if conditions allow. 9.30 am meeting at Kingsmeadows car park. 13.7 miles/22 km, 1640 feet/500m.

 

Sunday 31:

Tweeddale Ramblers. Hillend Circular. A strenuous walk from Hillend lower car park, ascending Hillend Hill, Caerketton Hill, Allermuir Hill, Capelaw Hill, Bonaly Resevoir, Bonaly Park, Dreghorn Mains and back to start. 9.30 am meeting at Kingsmeadows car park.  7.5 miles/12 km, 2214 feet/675m.
