Alzheimer Scotland is Launching Online Activity Groups for People in the Borders

Alzheimer Scotland Borders is happy to announce that we are going to be offering weekly online activity groups. These groups will take place on the first, second, third and last Thursday of the month at 11am.

At a time where  people are finding it difficult to connect with others outside of their own household, the groups aim to bring together people with dementia as well as their carers/family members in a safe and supportive environment.

We will be running the following groups:

  • first Thursday of the month – digital dogs (a dog will be present to help host either a bingo session or a scavenger hunt, alternating each month)
  • second Thursday of the month – musical memories (a group based around music that will include live musical performances)
  • third Thursday of the month – quiz and a blether (an opportunity to talk to others whilst also taking part in a quiz)
  • last Thursday of the month – carer/family support group (a group where carers and family members of people living with dementia can come together to get mutual support and advice from others in a similar situation)

In July, quiz and a blether will run on the 16th and carer/family support group will run on the 30th. Then all groups will run as scheduled in August.

For more information, or to sign up to one of our activity sessions, please contact Alzheimer Scotland Borders by emailing us at or by calling 01573 400324.

None of this much needed support would be possible without your kind and generous donations, which we are incredibly grateful for. If you would like to support us during these difficult times, please co
