Warmworks and Changeworks are working together to deliver the Electrification of Heat Demonstration Project, which will install a range of free heat pumps in 250 homes across South East Scotland. With funding from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the project aims to make homes warmer and more energy efficient over the longer term, as well as reducing householders’ reliance on fossil fuels and contributes to Scottish and UK wide environmental commitments.
The project is now 85% full so homeowners across the Borders are encouraged to register their interest before the project fills up.
Changeworks, a leading environmental charity based in Edinburgh, is working alongside Warmworks to lead a programme of activity to find applicants for the project. Warmworks will work closely with a range of registered, local installation companies to deliver the project and oversee the process, ensuring that customers experience a first-class, streamlined service.
Andrew has been selected to take part in the project and had an air source heat pump installed for free. He said: “I have been looking to upgrade my ageing, inefficient gas boiler and hot water tank for some time now and heard about the Electrification of Heat Demonstration Project. I am keen on making my home more energy efficient and after a bit more reading, I found the project to be ideal for my requirements.”
Andrew said the recruitment process was extremely quick and easy: “I filled in a simple web form and received a quick call back which put my home through to the next stage. At each stage, the people were friendly and knowledgeable, from the initial call back right through to the technical survey and assessment. I was pleasantly surprised how fast each stage progressed. The installation only took 2 days, left no mess, and now my home has a brand-new renewable heating system!”
85% of the spaces have already been filled, but there is still time to register your interest. Find out more information and register your details on Warmworks’ website: https://www.warmworks.co.uk/electrification-of-heat/ or contact Changeworks on 0131 539 8609 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
